- I decided to use these guys to rebuild my 6.0 Powerstroke. It was a big job and an expensive one. I had a huge list of things to do with a full engine rebuild. They were fair on the price, but when it came down to some options, Steve recommended a couple and steered me away from a couple that were not necessary. He did not act like a typical mechanic and up sell just to make more money. Ben did the work very well, I checked up on him a couple times. It was done on time and ran great. A few months later I used them again to replace my cat converter. They did an awesome job on that too. Now I’m not the type of person to leave a review but about 8 months after the motor rebuild I lost all of my transmission fluid while driving about 50mph. I looked and saw it was coming from my transmission cooler area and figured I blew it. I took it back to them to put a new trans cooler in. Knowing Deranged doesn’t really inspect or rebuild transmissions I told Kimberly I was going to have it towed to my transmission shop after they did the work so I could have my transmission inspected to rule out any damage. She said okay and wrote up the work order. Steve called me later that day and told me he could see where a clamp was not installed properly by them and he would cover any damage caused as well as whatever my transmission shop charges me for the inspection and refilling it. This blew me away! I was so impressed by his honesty and willingness to make it right. Steve even had Ben power wash the entire undercarriage with a hotsie after I got it back from the transmission shop. These guys are GREAT! I would fully recommend using them.Jeremy K
- The mechanic shop we were going to changed directions and we were directed to Deranged Diesel Repair. We called, got an appointment fast, easy to find, and most importantly our previous shop trusted them. Arrived at the shop for service and were greeted by Molly, can’t say enough about her, very professional, easy to talk with, customer service and then some! The owner Steve answered our questions and didn’t make you feel like you were wasting his time. Work was completed and then the mechanic listed items that needed to be addressed and talked me through them. No pressure. Thank you Kasey! - I can’t say enough good things about Deranged Diesel. I met Steve 10 years ago when he did a full rebuild/bulletproof on our Ford truck. Since then, he’s maintained our small fleet of diesel trucks, doing a great job with exceptional results out on the road. I'd had another good diesel shop in NC perform some maintenance on a rig I bought, ~2000mi into the trip west, I noticed the new rear axle seal was dripping some fluid.
Spoke to Steve via phone one morning when I was hours away, told him my situation, he said they had a few other rigs towed in last night so they couldn't dig into mine but at least they could verify the rear diff fluid was full and no play in the wheel. That they did after greeting me in the parking lot. All was ok, this gave me peace of mind for the rest of my trip home. Didn't charge me at all for their time which was unexpected!

Met the owner Steve and the coordinator Justin who were both very understanding of our predicament, pulling a trailer and a thousand miles from home.
Justin did a diagnostic and recommended a complete turbo replacement. Justin had the new turbo overnighted to the shop. Two days later on a Friday (10 minutes before closing) the new turbo was installed and we were back on our trip.
